Platelet rich plasma (PRP) injection has been used for a range of conditions, ranging from musculoskeletal related conditions to cosmetic procedures. For the past decades, PRP has been used in Aesthetic Medicine to aid in various skin concerns.
PRP can be done in 2 ways depending on your comfort level and concern.
1) by injecting into the skin
2) combining it with microneedling (well known as the vampire facial)
We will briefly discuss on PRP treatment:
What is PRP and the science behind it.
Platelet rich plasma (PRP) is processed from the patient's own blood. The process involves withdrawing blood from the patient, centrifuging the blood, and injection of the derived plasma. It concentrates a large amount of platelets in the processed plasma. Many proteins, most importantly growth factors, were also found in PRP play important roles in skin rejuvenation and collagen stimulation.

Breast Lifting
Many women have sagging breasts as a result of pregnancy, breastfeeding, weight loss and as part of the ageing process. PRP stimulates more collagen production hence can help by tightening the skin and reduce sagging of breast. It also helps to lighten the stretch marks. It is generally safe for all but not recommended if you have any of the following: currently pregnant/breastfeeding, severe sagging, has a risk of developing breast cancer, and aiming to increase cup size.
Hair loss
PRP helps when combined with other treatment modalities such as Minoxidil hair spray. Study has shown that growth factors contained in the concentrate prolongs the growth phase of the hair cycle. It also increases the survival of hair follicles. PRP can be used in hair loss due to androgenic alopecia, female pattern hair loss, alopecia areata, etc.

PRP is a safe and effective procedure suitable for patients of all age groups. However we do not recommend the treatment to be done on those who are: pregnant/nursing, known infectious disease, skin cancer, blood cancer, and taking blood thinners.
