Botulinum toxin, or more commonly known as Botox by patients, has been used widely for cosmetic purposes globally in temporarily reducing facial wrinkles . The established brands for Botulinum Toxin Type A include: Botox®, Dysport®, Xeomin®. We use Botox® for our treatment.

The Procedure:
Botulinum toxin treatment is tolerable and no numb cream is needed prior to treatment.

Treatment area cleansed with antiseptic solution

Injection will take less than 5 minutes

The After Procedure Care:
You can immediately return to your normal daily activities after treatment with a few things to take note of:
- Avoid touching the treated area for 1-3 days.
- Avoid intense heat exposure (ie sauna, face steaming) and excessive sweating (ie strenuous exercise).
- Avoid sleeping on the treated area for 1 day.
- Make up free for 1 day.
- Do not consume alcohol for 1 day.
- Avoid other skin treatments (ie: facials, facial massage, exfoliating scrubs) for 1 day.

The Side Effects:
These may happen (depending on the area treated) but rare and will resolve as the effect of botulinum toxin fades.
- Droopy eyelid
- Facial asymmetry
- Asymmetry eyebrow shape / eyebrow ptosis
- Allergic reaction

The Interval and Frequency:
Botulinum toxin effect lasts for about 4-6 months. A repeat treatment of every 6 months will be needed.
